« I haven't seen it myself, but a friend mentioned that the Great Wall of China is similar... Jharokha Fort is one of those places around Jaipur where there's definitely something interesting to see and do! 🌄✨ »

« Local beauty! Right next to the Jal Mahal palace! To visit the palace, you need to take a boat. But tourists are not allowed to enter the palace itself. Usually, people just admire it from the shore while walking around the artificial Man Sagar Lake. Most often on elephants. 🐘 »

« Hawa Mahal is an iconic landmark of Jaipur. Hawa Mahal literally translates to "Palace of Winds." It was constructed by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. The architecture of Hawa Mahal features a pyramidal facade with five stories and boasts 953 small windows adorned with intricate latticework. The enhanced circulation of air through the windows helped keep the palace cool. Small covered balconies and arched roofs with hanging cornices accentuate the beauty of the structure. The pyramidal shapes and patterns make it visually appealing.

It is believed that Hawa Mahal was built for the women of the royal dynasty, who were required to wear the purdah. The latticed windows and closed balconies allowed these women to observe the happenings on the streets. This way, they could enjoy the feeling of freedom without having to wear the purdah. :) »

« The city of Jaipur began with this 15th-century fort. Now it's inhabited by people, and guided tours don’t come here anymore. »

« Next, we were headed to Amber Fort. On the way, we came across an elephant and a cow, but I didn't manage to photograph any camels))) they were around too. »

« Here it is, the entrance to the Palace of Winds. The ticket counter is on the left. A ticket costs around 60 rupees. You can also buy a comprehensive ticket for about 500 rupees that’s valid for two days. It allows you to visit several attractions at once. So, it's definitely a better deal by about three times. »

« The only attraction where I wished I had a guide was the observatory in Jaipur. I really wanted to understand the details, like, what is the purpose of that bowl in the floor? »
