« Another notable attraction in Kyoto is the Kiyomizu-dera Temple, which was originally built in 798 AD. The current structure is a reconstruction from 1633. »

« Continuing our journey through Japan! One of the most famous landmarks in Kyoto is the Fushimi Inari Shrine (established in 711 AD). Endless red torii gates and hundreds of fox statues accompany you along the path in this ancient site. The torii gates are sponsored for a fee when the opportunity arises, as it is believed to aid in business success 😉 After all, Inari is the goddess of rice and harvest. You can easily spend a major part of the day visiting Fushimi Inari! :) »

« Nishiki Market is a paradise for food lovers and a must-visit tourist attraction. You can find everything from octopus with an egg instead of "brains," sesame-flavored ice cream, matcha cupcakes, mochi filled with red beans, to the familiar Japanese-inspired treats. It’s definitely best to arrive hungry! ☝️ »

« The Sagano Bamboo Grove, also known as the Sagano Bamboo Forest, is a picturesque alley adorned with thousands of towering bamboo stalks standing in perfect alignment, like soldiers at attention. This stunning natural attraction is located on the western outskirts of Kyoto, within the Arashiyama district, and is not far from the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Tenryu-ji Temple. The site has gained immense popularity not just for its extraordinary beauty, but also for the unique sound that emerges when the wind brushes against the slender bamboo stems. Visitors to the Sagano Grove share that this sound, vaguely reminiscent of music, creates a profoundly calming effect, enveloping one in a sense of harmony. 🌿✨ »

« In Kyoto, there is the Rock Garden, created by a Zen master for the meditation of the monks of Ryoan-ji temple. It's not for everyone, but it sure attracts cheerful school kids and curious crowds. And the Golden Tea House! We weren't allowed to touch it, only to look at it :( And the cherry blossoms are still blooming! What a magical place Kyoto is! »
