« We roamed the sacred grounds, got a bit melancholic, and decided to take a seat for a moment. With this photo, I wrap up my mini-tour of the Golden Pagoda, or Shwedagon Stupa. It’s a stunning place with its golden beauty in both a literal and metaphorical sense. I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into such a wonderful location. 🌟 »

« Suwannaphum Pagoda is a Buddhist sanctuary that houses relics of four Buddhas. It was built over 2,500 years ago and has been continually expanded and decorated since then. What a beautiful complex! Protect your eyes from the bright sun reflecting off the gold and white marble, and watch your feet on the heated tiles: entry is strictly barefoot. You can wash your feet in a special area nearby, where there’s a clever lady who is quite eager for tips :) The pagodas are situated on a hill, and to make it easier for visitors, there are escalators and elevators. There aren’t many foreign tourists, but plenty of locals who feel it’s their duty to visit this sacred site. For international guests, the entrance fee is $8, while locals can enter for free, which is the same setup at all other attractions. »
