« Corruption runs rampant here, and the authorities seem indifferent to the residents. You can see people rummaging through trash cans in broad daylight, and there’s always someone asking for spare change on every corner. Pensioners barely scrape by with around €100 a month, which is hardly enough to live on. Elderly women sell flowers, pop into cafes, and offer souvenirs. The less fortunate do their best to get by. It's disheartening to witness... Perhaps the situation is different in the resorts, but I can't speak to that. I'm only sharing my thoughts about Sofia.
What did I like? Groceries and café prices are quite affordable, there's a great modern metro system built in 2010, and plenty of fruits and sunshine. Overall, it was a fantastic month free from cooking and cleaning, fulfilling all my desires (because the prices allow for that). 😊 »
And guess what? Tomorrow we’re off to Prague! The bus comes with Wi-Fi, and the ticket from Sofia to Prague costs 112 Bulgarian leva, which is about $60. »
