« Nearby the main pedestrian street of Copenhagen, Strøget, you can find a surprisingly beautiful square. Its name comes from the time when a Franciscan monastery, founded in 1238 by the wealthy woman Ingerd Jakobsdatter, stood there. Such ancient history!
In the 16th century, the monastery flourished until changes in religion led to its decline. By the 19th century, the buildings had burned down, but the place still bears witness to its past.
In the center of the square stands a massive, stunning tree, which I absolutely adore. I can only imagine how beautiful it is here in the summer.
Take a look at the panorama; it’s breathtaking. 🌳✨ »
« The final installment of my posts about Denmark 🇩🇰, sharing observations about this beautiful country 🥰
• Copenhagen is officially recognized as the happiest and most comfortable city in the world 😍
• It's home to the second oldest amusement park in the world, Tivoli Gardens, which inspired the creation of Disneyland 🎡
• The tap water in Copenhagen is so pure that it's safe to drink even in public restrooms. However, prices for bottled water are marked up, almost to promote the use of tap water.
• In Danish, there's no word for "please," and a request can come across as "I need to get."
• With public transport being quite pricey, most residents get around by biking 🚴♀️
• On a related note, gasoline costs around $1.87 per liter in Copenhagen ⛽️
• Car taxes are higher than the value of the cars themselves 🚗
• The people of Copenhagen are extremely cool. Even in drizzly weather and gusty winds, they cruise around on bikes without jackets.
• A ticket from Copenhagen to Sweden is almost equivalent to the price of entry to one of the museums (though most museums are more expensive).
• Public transport in Copenhagen is free, allowing you to enjoy a ride to the first-class carriage, feeling like a true VIP 🕺 »

« Copenhagen is all about canals, boats, yachts, bridges, and charming little footbridges, colorful houses, bikes... and just a ton of impressions! 🌈🚲✨ »
