« Budapest is a unique spa city in Europe, known for its hundreds of mineral springs. 🧖‍♀️💧 Among the most popular are the Széchenyi, Gellért, Rudas, and Király baths, offering a range of experiences, from historical to modern, with massages, saunas, Turkish baths, and late-night swimming options – you'll find something to suit every taste and budget.

Our choice was undoubtedly the most beautiful spa in Budapest, Gellért. The architecture of this therapeutic resort is stunning, reminiscent of ancient Roman baths: a complex adorned with various glass mosaics, elegant basins, and beautiful columns. (The price of a day ticket is approximately 18 € compared to other smaller baths, where entry prices range from 7-12 €). The spring waters, sourced from the depths of the Gellért Hill, ensure a wonderful bathing experience. Currently, the Gellért spa boasts 8 thermal basins with temperatures ranging from 26 to 38 degrees, along with various aqua aerobics activities every hour, sauna, steam room, and an 80-degree Finnish sauna with an ice barrel outside. And newly added is a cozy thermal basin, so you can instantly feel like a new person after just 15 minutes in there. 😅💦👩‍🦰💫 »

« About prices in Budapest. Overall, prices here are quite reasonable. For example, you can rent a nice apartment in the center with an interesting interior for about $50 per night for two people. The selection of places is really extensive. You can find more budget-friendly accommodations if you're not particular about the interior. I usually book places on Airbnb.

Metro rides and local transportation cost around $1. Interestingly, there are no ticket machines in the metro; you just have to take a token to enter. Occasionally, there are controllers checking for compliance with the rules.

As for dining in Budapest, it’s not too pricey either. To have a meal or grab a drink with wine or beer usually costs around $20 per person. In my next post, I’ll share the places we enjoyed the most.

And on the photo, it’s the museum of contemporary art. »

« We gathered such a colorful Tetris and wonderfully made it to the airport🛫, all for just 50 euros 🤣😁

- That's it. Let's get the money. 😆

« In Hungary 🇭🇺, the official currency is the Forint (Ft). It circulates in both metallic coins and paper bills (the largest denomination being 20,000 Ft).

As of now, the exchange rate is approximately 100 Ft = $0.29. I usually carry both cash and a card. Practically, in 98% of cases, using a card for payment is accepted. 💳 »

« The ticket machine for buying tickets for the local transport is located on the street not far from the bus stop, and there are also machines in the metro. It's nice that all the information is available in English. A single ticket is valid for the metro and local transport. It costs 12 dirhams, which is roughly $3.

« Budapest caught me off guard. The viewing platform charges $150. Seriously?? This isn't the Pisa Tower at €18 😱 »
@svetlanna_soleil
« On many metro stations in Budapest, there is absolutely no informational signage, and I completely couldn't understand which direction to go. At some stations, to transfer to a different route, you need to go up. The cost of a single transit is around 1.10 USD, and this ticket is valid for metro and local transport – tram, bus, trolleybus.

« 💦 Thermal Baths in Budapest 💦
This is the largest bath complex in Budapest and in all of Europe. It boasts thermal water sourced from the St. Gellért spring, located in the beautiful City Park. 🌳
In February, while the air temperature is around +1, the water temperature reaches a delightful +36 degrees. 🧖‍♀️ There are about 4500-5600 visitors depending on the time and selected package (either general admission or private).
The complex includes 15 indoor pools and 3 outdoor pools ☀️: jacuzzis, a flowing bath, a herbal sauna 🌿, a Finnish sauna, and taps with drinking mineral water. 💧
After a day exploring the sights, this truly is an excellent way to unwind! 🎉 »

« Budapest - a revelation! As I mentioned before, thanks to the person who serendipitously directed me to Wizz Air flights to Budapest, this place has become a fabulous destination for our group. If you combine it with a wide selection of excellent apartments and great prices, Hungary is worth considering for a 4-5 day getaway or mini-break. Here, the stunning architecture will captivate your eyes the entire time you're in Budapest, but you might struggle to do more than 4 days unless you're really committed to enjoying the wines! In case you stay near the Ruin Bars (which you can hardly visit Hungary without experiencing), you’ll have plenty to explore.

Of course, everyone has their tastes and preferences, but I’ll share what we did and how it went, just in case it helps you in the future – a little keepsake for yourself. Originally, the plan was to go to Berlin, primarily to find an ideal place in Europe for budget travel, but after 15 minutes of analysis on a route we found online, we decided Budapest was the one.

We debated about getting a club membership for benefits but in the end we just bought tickets straight away since they were on sale. We booked an apartment for $218 for 5 nights for 5 people; it was comfortable with royal bedding. Honestly, I wouldn't have wanted to leave that apartment because it was so cozy.

Local wine is available at prices around $2 per bottle, and it’s pretty good! We came across a great local spot where you can enjoy delicious eats at fantastic prices. We lived in a Jewish quarter, just a 3-5 minute walk from some of the trendiest bars and ruin pubs. »

« How to get from Budapest airport to the city center?

1) Bus 200E + metro 🚍

Bus 200E takes you to Kőbánya-Kispest metro station. This station is quite far from the center, so you’ll need to take a metro afterward. The cost of a single ticket for public transportation is 1.15 USD. You can buy tickets from the machine at the stop. Payment can be made in cash or by card. One nice feature of these machines is that they have an English option.

You must validate your tickets.

2) Bus 100E 🚐

It goes straight to Deák Ferenc tér, the city center, and costs 2.30 USD. There are only 4 stops along the route, and the journey takes about 40-60 minutes.

3) Taxi 🚖

P.S. If you arrive at night 🌙, you might consider taking bus 900.

What would you like to see in the next post - accessibility, sights, or food? 😄 »

« Trip to the zoo brought me great joy! 🐒
The entrance for adults costs 2,500 forints, which is approximately $6.75.
It's best to arrive early in the morning, as the zoo operates until 4 PM, and the ticket office closes an hour earlier.
We managed to explore the entire zoo in about 3 hours.
The territory is vast and beautiful, with plenty of animals.
There are elephants 🐘, giraffes 🦒, meerkats, cheetahs, white bears, and sea lions — the only thing missing is a tiger!
It's worth noting that the animals are not enclosed in small cages, but have plenty of space to roam.
Also, I've heard that the water for the seals is sourced directly from a thermal spring, and this pair has already had a baby. 😎
So, you can be assured the animals are well taken care of! The conditions for their lives are genuinely excellent. 😍

« A bouquet of beautiful primroses for less than 2 Euros, coffee at Starbucks for about $2.50, even with the crazy current exchange rate. Happiness lives in Budapest. »
@lorka24
« The Ferris wheel in Budapest is both a starting point and a local attraction! For 5 euros, you get to enjoy three rides, and if you opt for the VIP cabin with champagne and some snacks, a 30-minute ride will cost you around 95 euros. 🎡🥂 »
@olya.hi
« A few words about the Budapest market. The market is among the top 5 must-visit places in this city. The building itself is stunning: the shiny scales of the roof and the airy, translucent vaults are mesmerizing. And let's not forget the endless rows of sausages, foie gras, fruits, and other delicacies.

Speaking of specifics: the salami is definitely of excellent quality and makes for a great souvenir. As for foie gras, a 200g jar will cost around $18, which is cheaper than in many places. Fruits and vegetables are fantastic and affordable. And the most intriguing part? Black sturgeon caviar - I'll save that for another post! 😊 »

« The view from the hotel window in the heart of Budapest! An apartment for 4 people was available through a connection for €70, while the standard price is €100. »

« Budapest. The Hop on Hop off for 48 hours includes 3 bus routes + a boat ride, costing about $27. Today it was 104 degrees Fahrenheit. »
@annayefimova
« The Budapest Ferris Wheel costs 8 euros. I got more pleasure from the pools on Margaret Island. »
@chocoffea
« The price for such entertainment and wellness spa experiences, featuring 2 large swimming pools, various baths, and a variety of saunas like a hammam or herbal aromatherapy, is less than $10 (these are the most expensive options among the 6-8 pools available in the city). For this price, you can actually sunbathe and swim in all the pools for the entire day. »
@stasprozorov
« Balconies overlooking the courtyard of the place we stayed. Hipster Hostel in Budapest. €22 for a decent double room in the city center. »
@trittta
« Beautiful Budapest... I used to prefer Prague more... But now it has changed: crowds of tourists, countless shops... It's hard to find a decent place to eat - it's very expensive in the center... But Budapest feels more familiar to me, with good prices for now, though that was last year. Now I’m not sure. For some reason, there are fewer tourists, but that’s what attracts me... Such a diverse Budapest with beautiful bridges... »
@ma_shysha
« We weren't lucky with the weather this time; it rained almost all the time, so our sightseeing mainly consisted of restaurants))) To lighten up the food photos a bit, let me show you the little apartment where we stayed for the first 2 days. It costs just $35. It's a two-story place))) »
@kris_one88
« There's this purely touristy spot called icebar. The prices are definitely marked up, but it's worth a visit just once. It's pretty cool inside, but really cold!!! 🥶✨ »
@pakuemsya
« Budapest, Hungary.
We've said it before, and it's worth repeating: Budapest is one of the best options for budget travel to Europe. Round-trip flights are around $50-$70. The city is well-branded, which adds to its charm. It's beautiful, and the prices there are lower than in many other European cities. »
@kisseleva_o
« Hooray! Budapest has its own Ferris wheel!!! I absolutely love it! For 9 dollars, we got to make 4 rotations. There was enough time to take photos of ourselves and everything outside. Such a romantic city!!! »
@lyupanda
« A large observation wheel. It loads 6 cabins at a time. It spins quickly and costs 8 euros. »

« Incredibly beautiful Budapest! The city is enchanting! Cozy! The cafes and restaurants are fabulous! The architecture is stunning! Tempting prices! Plenty of parks and fountains!! I fell in love with this city!! »

« Budapest from the viewpoint. The weather is fantastic, prices are super cheap, there are cute little cafes on every corner, and the charming low-rise buildings are lovely. We are enjoying it! ☀️🏙️ »

« Wholesale fabric store in Budapest!!!! By the way, the prices are great here for fabric!!!!! »

« The Wheel. More interesting than ours - it's fast, featuring 3 rounds of riding. 8 euros or approximately $8.50. »
@okrasss
« We went for a walk... When we returned to the car, there was a little scare... A local resident helped save the situation by calling the number listed on the window, and 20 minutes later, we were freed... For 50 euros... a fine! For what? We never understood! »
