« Be sure to visit the church! It's an astonishing place, hard to put into words, but it's where the soul feels incredibly calm and at peace.

The church was founded in 639 AD. The dome of the central nave sparkles with a mosaic depicting saints with crowns above their heads. In another mosaic, hundreds of figures crowd in front of the Last Judgment – a fascinating 12th-century mosaic, perhaps the best rendition of this theme I've ever seen. »

« The Contarini del Bovolo staircase is located right in the heart of Venice, nestled between two famous landmarks: St. Mark's Square and the Rialto Bridge. Despite its central location, very few people manage to find it on their own. Built in the late 15th century, this unique structure was designed by an unknown architect. »

« Today was an incredibly busy day! We explored Venice partially. We visited a stunning Orthodox church (it's called San Giovanni Decollato), and along the way, we stopped by about five other holy places, checked out several great cafes, tried some pizza, wandered through an Italian market, and touched the ancient walls of the tiny streets. On the same shore where the church is located, it was much quieter and less crowded compared to the main tourist areas. This atmosphere revealed a completely different side of Venice! Interestingly, prices there are a bit lower, and you can really feel the city's energy. I really didn't want to leave. Afterward, we explored a huge Italian supermarket. »

« Today was a wonderful, sunny, ☀️ culture-filled day! We visited museums, squares, historical sites, bridges, and delicious restaurants. This is the view from the Ca'd'Oro museum overlooking the Grand Canal. »

« For those who haven't been to Venice, this crossing is one of the main attractions. It's called the Bridge of Sighs. At first glance, it may seem like there's no better place in Venice for romantic dates — however, its name has a rather somber origin. In medieval times, this bridge connected the court in the Doge's Palace to the prison, from whose dank, semi-basement cells few emerged alive, and even fewer in good health. Many prisoners crossing this bridge saw sunlight and breathed fresh air for the last time in their lives. So it would be more accurate to call it the Bridge of Farewell Sighs — such is the “romance.” »
