« Swiss highways. 🚗🚙🚚 The Swiss motorways are considered some of the best in the world. 👍 The country started building them only in 1959, weaving stretches through mountains and cutting through thick rock. 🏔️ The first section was opened from Geneva to Lausanne. The first toll road, the Grand Saint-Bernard, opened in 1964. Today, this is one of the few paid routes. Most of the Swiss motorways were built during the Cold War, and they also serve an additional function – to act as emergency landing strips for aircraft. 🛬🛩️
To drive on the Swiss motorways, you need to buy a sticker, which is valid for 14 months (from December 1 of the previous year until January 31 of the following year). It costs around $44. In general, this ends up being much cheaper than traveling through France, for example, where you have to pay different tolls for various road segments. 💰 The fine for driving without a sticker is around $220, and you'll still need to buy the sticker anyway! 😱 »
The museum turned out to be very interesting and educational overall; if you have the chance, it’s definitely a must-visit! A ticket for an adult costs 20 Swiss Francs, and if you go as a family, it’s 45 Francs total for everyone, regardless of the number of kids.
P.S. I’ll remember to take photos in the museum 🙂. »
