Monte San Salvatore
Rising above the picturesque city of Lugano, Monte San Salvatore offers both scenic views and a glimpse into the region's history. This prominent peak, reaching 905 meters, was first ascended by tourists in 1870 and has since become a popular hiking destination. Visitors can take a funicular railway from the base near the Lungolago, allowing easy access to the summit. In the spring, particularly in May, the lush greenery and blooming flora make for an inviting hike. From the top, guests can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding lakes and mountains, perfect for photography or simply relaxing amidst nature.
