Getting Around

On Foot
Walking in Edinburgh is free and provides access to all major attractions, like Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, but make sure to wear comfortable shoes as many areas, especially the cobbled streets, can be steep and uneven. For a scenic route, navigate down Victoria Street to Grassmarket for cafés and stunning views of the castle.
Tram
Edinburgh Trams cost £1.80 for a single journey and operate every 7-10 minutes from the Airport through the city center to York Place, making it a convenient option for accessing attractions like the Scottish National Gallery. To save money, consider purchasing a day ticket for £4.50, allowing unlimited travel within the city zone, perfect for a day of exploring!

« Arthur's Seat is the place where you have to catch the sunrise and soak in one of the most stunning views in the world. Yes, the climb isn't the easiest and the Scottish winds can be pretty fierce, but it’s totally worth it! Once you reach the top, you instantly think of the lines from Robert Burns: “My heart’s in the highlands.” The experience is truly magical! 🌅✨ »

« Overall, I really loved this city! Unlike London, even though we were a bit chilly in the local +15 degrees today. Considering it's summer in Edinburgh! Yes, the city is quite cold, but it’s really beautiful and cozy. In the center, on the Royal Mile, there’s certainly a crowd, but you can find cashmere, men in tartan skirts, and street performers. It’s all very wonderful and fascinating! 😊 »

« I can't wait to return to the blooming Edinburgh with its stone houses and cobbled streets, blooming parks, and friendly locals... 🌸🏰✨ »

« Words can't describe it, but as soon as you leave the airport, it's like stepping into a movie about Scotland. Everything feels like a set design. No litter, bad roads, or crooked houses. It's all so beautiful and authentic that it's hard to believe it's real life. Even the green moss on the fences is indeed there! Overall, I'm in love! ❤️🌿 »
