« It's interesting how Bogotá is divided into neighborhoods based on the standard of living. There are 6 types of neighborhoods. The first two types are slums. They pay minimal taxes and receive electricity and water almost for free. The 3rd and 4th types belong to the middle class. These are ordinary houses where most people live. They pay for utilities and regular taxes. The 5th and 6th types are for the wealthy. They pay higher taxes both for themselves and for the residents of the 1st and 2nd types. For example, the water fee in the 1st type can be around $5, while in the 6th type, it can go up to $600. Neighborhoods of the 1st and 6th types can comfortably coexist next to each other. »
