Getting Around

Car
In Panama City, using an Uber can cost anywhere from $3 to $10 depending on the distance, and it's widely available throughout the city, especially around popular areas like Casco Viejo and Avenida Balboa. For a smoother ride, avoid peak hours (7-9am and 5-8pm) to dodge heavy traffic and ensure a quicker journey.
Taxi
Taxis in Panama City are readily available, costing around $3-5 for most short trips within the city, and it's best to pay in cash as not all drivers accept credit cards. Always negotiate the fare before getting in, especially for longer distances or trips to places like Albrook Mall, to avoid any surprises later.

« Today, I discovered a new spot in Panama City, a delightful fish market with a cozy café right in the heart of it. The atmosphere is, of course, brimming with the essence of fresh seafood, but the taste of the freshest fish really stands out. You can truly savor the flavors of the catch of the day! 🍽️🐟 »

« Hello everyone!
Here are a few interesting facts about Panama.
1. Panama is the only place in the world where you can watch the sun rise over the Pacific Ocean and set over the Atlantic.
2. The Panama Railroad is the most expensive railroad in the world; its construction took 5 years and cost about $8 million. More than 12,000 people lost their lives during its construction.
3. Among alcoholic beverages, traditional indigenous chicha made from sugarcane, rum, and local beer are favorites in the republic.
4. Languages: the primary language is Spanish, with English as the second language.
5. Although the country has its own currency—the balboa—transactions are made exclusively in US dollars.
6. The iconic hat known as the "panama" is quite popular, but it’s actually made in Ecuador, not Panama.
7. In this country, you can swim in two oceans in just one day, both the Atlantic and the Pacific. 🌊🏖️  »

« Well, my third trip of the year has come to an end! I visited five new countries.

For the most part, Panama was a delightful surprise with its stunning contrasts, Panama City, where skyscrapers made of glass and concrete neighbor charming colonial buildings. The main highlight of the country is the Panama Canal – a remarkable feat of engineering! It’s where I started my journey, and now I'm wrapping up this adventure.

The beauty of Costa Rica with its breathtaking coffee plantations and nature is simply unparalleled! A country that surely deserves a return visit! 😍 Nicaragua is a land rich in historical monuments and vibrant culture, but what left the biggest imprint on me were the warmhearted people that inhabit it!

Honduras and El Salvador... blessed with rich nature, bordered by lush hills and stunning coastlines. I felt no urge to refrain from exploring these places; my experience was only positive.

Overall, it was an amazing journey, albeit sometimes tiring! But while there's strength left in me, our adventure continues – we definitely need peace, that's for sure! 😄 »
