« One of the brightest and best memories of my life. Someday I will return there again. »
« Ancient Cairo... The history of any city with a thousand-year timeline sparks immense interest and awe. The name Cairo translates from Arabic as "the victorious." It’s no coincidence that the city carries such a name, as these lands have been conquered by various powers throughout history: Romans, Persians, Arabs, Mamluks, Ottoman Turks, and the French. Each of these eras left behind countless monuments. The more we know about these landmarks, the deeper we can immerse ourselves in the time when they were created, feel the essence of that era, and envision the events that took place there. These feelings are priceless because understanding the past helps us discover ourselves and find our place in the global world.
In summary:☝ it's essential to delve into the history of the city we plan to visit. And let’s not forget the importance of knowing the language of the country we’re heading to. With this knowledge, unforgettable travel experiences are guaranteed. »
« Today we are welcomed by Cairo. The city is so contrasting that it's hard to describe. I can only say that after 8 years since my first visit, Cairo has become cleaner and... wealthier! But the Bedouins always remain true to themselves. 😊 »
« Cairo is so full of contrasts that I still can't believe in its constant decline and transformation before my eyes. For example, you can walk down a street where people throw trash out of their windows, walk into a café with delicious desserts and a perfectly clean restroom, and I just love that mirror. 😊 »
« My first impression of Cairo is that it's a city of trash, dirt, odors, and traffic jams. A place where car horns serve as a language among drivers, and crossing the street on a green light feels pointless—it's better to just run with your eyes closed. Cairo has stunning architecture, but the overwhelming dirt and dust turn its beauty into a dull ochre mass. Everyone in Cairo seems so bitter and desperate at first glance. Yet, each person is actually happy in their own world. I think religion helps them remain kind and responsive. At first glance, it looks like they hate each other, but in reality, anyone is ready to lend a hand.
Life in Cairo is bustling, and the city doesn’t sleep even at night. It contradicts itself—there are young women driving luxury S-Class Mercedes, and an elderly lady in a hijab observes them with disdain while overtaking them in an old car. This city represents the true face of Egypt, as opposed to the artificiality of places like Sharm El Sheikh. Cairo is infused with the energy and temperament of its people, steeped in the Quran and rich history. »
« I haven't figured out if I like Cairo yet. I think tomorrow will clarify everything. »
« Cairo. Mixed emotions. I was so excited to see the pyramids and the Sphinx, but in the end, I was thrilled to have visited this museum. That’s where true history resides, without any annoying distractions. I would trade half of the tour for extra time in that building. 😊 »
