« The Stella Maris Monastery, home to the Order of the Barefoot Carmelites, is perched on Mount Carmel in Israel. It stands as a key landmark and significant heritage of the city of Haifa. The complex attracts tourists from all around the globe today. The name "Stella Maris" translates to "Star of the Sea," and it was constructed under the design of architect D. Cassini. The construction took thirty years. When the monastery was completed, it included monastic cells, accommodations for pilgrims, a library, a bakery, and a hospice with a pharmacy. The church's building is shaped like a cross, featuring simple architectural lines. Bible verses can be found inscribed on the vaulted ceilings. The windows are adorned with stained glass, and the walls are painted with frescoes. The altar hosts a statue of the Virgin Mary holding the infant Jesus. There's also a cave with a sarcophagus, believed to be the burial site of the prophet Elijah. The cathedral houses a functioning organ. Nowadays, the monastery is open for visitors. »

« In Israel / Louis Promenade Observatory
The viewpoints of the Louis Promenade offer picturesque sights. From the "Balcony of the Entire Country," you can catch glimpses of landmarks like the Bahá'í Complex with its temple and gardens, lower Haifa, and the bay where cruise ships occasionally dock. The Louis Promenade is a pedestrian walkway furnished with benches for relaxation, making it popular among tourists and locals alike. Every evening, you can witness stunning Mediterranean sunsets. 🌅 »

« The Bahá'í Temple, shaped like a star with nine points and a golden dome, adorned with marble and granite columns, is located in Israel on Mount Carmel, nestled within one of the most beautiful eastern gardens in the world. For followers of the Bahá'í faith, this is the main pilgrimage site. Tourists from various countries come here to admire one of Haifa's key attractions - the Bahá'í Temple. »

« Today we slightly altered our classic morning walk route and popped into the Haifa Museum of Local History... I noticed the museum was open and suggested we check it out!))) We explored various exhibits, antique household items, and examined some really old photographs of different houses – then we continued our walk! Honestly, we should visit museums more often since we've gotten a bit out of the habit. It's not quite like St. Petersburg, but there’s definitely plenty to see. So we’ll make sure to catch up on that! »
