« Montmorency Falls is considered one of Canada's top natural attractions. Residents of Quebec proudly point out that their 84-meter waterfall is 30 meters taller than Niagara Falls, conveniently ignoring that it's still smaller overall. You can visit in summer or winter (it's cold, but the sight of the frozen waterfall is worth bundling up for a trip to Montmorency), day or night (at night, the falls are playfully illuminated – thanks to the massive amounts of falling water that generate plenty of electricity). To appreciate the falls from different angles, you have to walk across a bridge over the Montmorency River and descend wooden steps along the slopes. Due to our tight schedule, we only managed to view the waterfall from one side, but on our next trip to Quebec (which we’re planning in the winter), we will definitely make up for that... »
