Crissy Field
Crissy Field sits along the northern waterfront of San Francisco, nestled between the Golden Gate Bridge and the Presidio. Originally an airfield used by the U.S. Army in the early 20th century, it has transformed into a popular recreational area that showcases beautiful views of the Bay. Spanning approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) along the shoreline, Crissy Field features a flat, walking and biking trail that attracts both locals and visitors, especially in the warmer months of April through October. Here, you can enjoy a range of activities, from kite flying to bird watching, with more than 80 species of birds often spotted in the area. The park's designated picnic spots and sandy beach make it a refreshing retreat for anyone looking to experience the outdoors in San Francisco.
