Getting Around

Motorcycle/Bike
In Pattaya, motos are widely available for quick rides, typically costing 20-50 baht depending on distance; just flag one down or use grab for cashless payment. For safety, always negotiate the fare upfront to avoid misunderstandings, especially late at night near Walking Street.
Bus
Pattaya's songthaews (shared taxis) cost 10-20 baht per ride and cover major areas like Walking Street, Jomtien, and Naklua, making them an affordable way to explore. To save even more, hop on a songthaew along the main road for only 10 baht; just flag it down and enjoy the ride!

« 👈 Nearby our hotel, there's a memorial dedicated to some kind of military figure. Honestly, I’d like to find out more about it when I finally get around to it 😄.

🌄 So, here's the deal. The memorial stands on a large hill. Of course, we can see it from our balcony, and it’s nice to have that view. We’ve been checking it out from early morning until late at night.

🐉 This track would be where we usually hang out. I'm not sure who thought it would be a great idea to set off fireworks there (I also find that puzzling). Greetings to them in general...

We managed to walk over and see what’s what. It was a bit of a struggle getting through the crowd, but eventually, we stumbled upon some durian and the memorial was nothing to write home about. However, the view of the skyline from up there was something else. 👌 »

« We live not far from Walking Street, a vibrant place that gives off a friendly vibe 😄 The hotel's location is just perfect 👌🏽—everything you need is within walking distance ☺️ But if you need to go somewhere a bit farther, just a quick tuk-tuk ride will get you there in no time 😏 »

« A bit of a hassle... But hey, what can you do?))) Adventures always find us)) climbing three thousand steps is like a breeze on a hot day))⛰️🍃 »

« Park Nong Nooch... It's unbelievably beautiful there... I can't even describe it!!!! So many different species, colors, animals... 🌺💚 »

« I've been here for a week already, and just yesterday I arrived...
It's warm and nice here. 🌞
Everyone around is incredibly friendly and kind. In our hotel, all the guests greet each other like old friends, it feels like everyone knows each other already! 😊 This is what summer does to people.
I’m not rushing anywhere or making any plans. I’ve explored the local attractions, enjoyed the ocean in the morning, had delicious meals in the evenings – in short, it’s been a great time! 😄🌴 »

« Kolan Island! The water is crystal clear, the playful dolphins jump around the trees, crabs, cacti, and the white sand is just perfect ❤️❤️❤️ »

« The caloric content of Asian cuisine, particularly in the western regions... Most tourists from these places, I must say, are not impressed. 🙌🙌🙌 You can try some of those incredible seafood staples, and it’s a must to capture such moments. You can find all of this at any local restaurant for a very reasonable price. 💰 For seafood lovers, this is an essential experience! 😋 »

« I fell in love with this zoo! Its vast territory, the animals, the people, and even the blazing sun left me speechless. One of the significant downsides is the distance from the city. Public transport isn't available, so you either have to go as part of an excursion or book a private transfer or taxi.

We waited a long time to get there, and in the end, we booked a private transfer at the last minute through a local agency. Many people say that on a busy day, it's impossible to walk there. Maybe if you know exactly how to get there (which isn’t the case for me). Of course, it’s super tempting to rent an electric car, which you can take for 7 hours, allowing you to explore the zoo at your own pace. 🦓💖 »

« One of the thrilling experiences in Thailand was riding a motorcycle. It’s amazing how effortlessly the locals maneuver between buses, tuk-tuks, and fancy cars, making their way through the chaotic streets without giving up the right of way to pedestrians. 🏍️✨ »

« How amazing it is to float in crystal clear waters 😍, no beach in Pattaya can compare to the beaches in Koh Larn... it's just one of those places you can't get enough of, and we keep heading back to the island whenever we can! 🤗 »

« So, Pattaya, you're a truly unique city, not a sibling and definitely not an uncle. There are so many different people bustling around, it's quite overwhelming. I think you need a bit of a cleanup, both from them and the traces they leave behind. They sure do create a lot of litter! And the things people get up to when they visit you – words can't quite capture it. Also, my friend, I'm not sure how you feel about this, but you have a bit of a bipolar vibe: while the sun is shining, you're one way, and as soon as it turns away, you're completely different. It's quite amusing! Thanks for welcoming us at night, even if you did give me a little fright. You were friendlier than your neighbor Beijing. Honestly, we enjoyed our time with you, but we can't stay too long. So, thanks, and we're off to our next adventure. 😊 »

« First day in Pattaya) we immediately set out to explore the city and even visited the famous street—we saw so much there))) Overall, we spent the entire first day with our mouths wide open in Thailand, but then we got used to it)) The local culture is very unique, and it definitely takes some getting used to. »

« Pattaya... I'm glad we didn't stay there ☺️. The area definitely lacks the noise and grime in every sense... But we still haven't found that golden mean in Thailand... Not yet. »

« Evening (or night) Pattaya, of course, the light from the lanterns on the promenade can spoil the impression, but it’s still beautiful!! »

« Last night we took a trip to Pattaya and realized just how great it is in our village, Jomtien. »

« Today we were incredibly lucky with the weather; the sky was clear and the sun was bright. It turned out to be a nice escape from the city. And Pattaya, or rather a small part of it, was very charming. There were hardly any tourists around, just really very few, and the beaches were empty, which we loved. And now we're heading home! »
