« Here’s my ranking of Vietnamese cities that I've visited, based solely on my personal feelings, preferences, infrastructure development, cleanliness, and comfort. First, let me say that I don’t view Hoi An as a separate city; it’s worth spending a couple of days there when traveling from Da Nang, which is featured in the photo.
1st place - Da Nang: a city that has it all. It's developed, modern, and continuously growing. Moreover, it boasts a fantastic tourist area with clean beaches, stunning nature, and fascinating historical sites. It's appealing for both tourists and those who might want to stay longer.
2nd place goes to a tie between Nha Trang and Hanoi. Nha Trang is great for tourists who love the sea, swimming, and sunbathing. Although there are some attractions, they are limited. Hanoi, to me, is the third capital in my ranking of capitals, following Bangkok and Kyiv. It's a modern, developing city with significant historical interest.
3rd place is Vung Tau: a beautiful, clean, bright, and spacious city with beaches on three sides that are quite decent, depending on the waves. However, it feels a bit quiet; I think it’s perfect for families looking for a tranquil escape.
4th place goes to Quy Nhon - an untouched tourist city with clean beaches and seafood, but everything is quite local, including menus and the atmosphere.
5th place is again a tie, this time between Phan Thiet (which includes Mui Ne) and Phu Quoc Island. Mui Ne and Phu Quoc are lovely spots with amazing sea and beaches, but unfortunately, they are quite dirty, with litter from tourists. I believe that in about five years, Phu Quoc will become a fantastic tourist hub.
Finally, at 6th place is Ho Chi Minh City. Despite its architecture and vibrant atmosphere, it is very dirty, at least in my opinion. The locals seem a bit less friendly here, which adds to my overall impression that Vietnamese people are somewhat more grumpy than those from Thailand (although definitely not everyone). »
