« Copenhagen, Denmark.
Getting around on public transport is expensive. A 20-minute ride on the metro costs us about $11. 😔 »

« One Day in the Capital of Denmark 🇩🇰 . .

Sometimes we take a week to get acquainted with a new country. But often we just have a few hours to explore. Which is exactly what happened to us in Copenhagen, where we had an 11-hour layover. .

To describe briefly, the city of Denmark is incredibly stunning with its beautiful architecture, bright sun, and a picturesque sky, along with… the vibrant colors of its buildings. 😍

Detailed instruction below 👇

Denmark is part of the Schengen zone, but does not use the euro. Therefore, calculations are made in Danish kroner (the exchange rate is approximately 1:9). You can reach the center from the Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup) by metro, bus, or taxi. .

We decided to take the train. A single ticket in one direction costs about 36 kroner ($5.10). The M2 metro line leads directly from the airport and takes about 15 minutes to get to the city center - station Norreport. .

One of the most famous attractions in Copenhagen is Nyhavn (New Harbor). The colorful harbor (as seen in the photo) looks absolutely beautiful, with all its bright houses against the backdrop of the deep blue sky, as well as numerous boats and yachts. .

From there, we went on a one-hour cruise along the canals of Copenhagen. The price is approximately 80 kroner ($11.40) for a single tour. During this time, we managed to see all the sights of the city and also checked out the symbol of Copenhagen - the Little Mermaid, the heroine of the famous fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. .

The remaining time we spent wandering through the streets of Copenhagen, relaxing in a café away from the wind and soaking up the local vibe. .

Have you been to Copenhagen? What interesting things did you miss? Or would you like to visit the capital of Denmark? In general, do you have any "non-standard" travel experiences? »

« "Good night, Darth Vader" and "Little Darth Vader Princesses" :))) The wave of "Star Wars" has reached Denmark, even for the little ones... However, judging by the prices, only adults will be able to play with all this :) You need to multiply the numbers on the price tags by 12 :)" »

« Denmark is a very expensive country. The prices for transportation left a strong impression on me. A ride from the airport to the city center by metro (crossing 3 zones, 15 minutes) costs about $15. A trip outside the city to the nearest castles will set you back about $40-$70 round trip, and sometimes you need to take a bus as well. Since I planned to travel a lot and explore, getting a Copenhagen Card was a fantastic solution. It allows for free travel on all forms of transport and access to many attractions. It costs around $50 for 24 hours, and with frequent use, it pays for itself quite easily. »

« This time Airbnb came to the rescue. I found an apartment just two subway stops from downtown for €100 per night. On Booking.com, even the simplest hostel with a bed in a shared room for 6-12 people starts at around €50. A single accommodation in the center with minimal amenities costs the same €100. I opted for the apartment and now enjoy two whole rooms and a huge kitchen at my disposal. 😊 »

« Carousel in the center of Copenhagen. Ticket price is 25 DKK. About 3.5 dollars. »

« Funny glass cat. It's also a Christmas ornament. Copenhagen. Expensive. Around 13 dollars. »

« This was my fourth trip, but for the first time, I visited Copenhagen as a tourist. I planned to spend two days and three nights leisurely exploring the city and its surroundings. As soon as you get to the airport, make sure to buy a Copenhagen Card and forget about transportation expenses, including trips to the countryside and museum tickets. We purchased the 72-hour card for €84. It paid off on the first day itself. The 48-hour card costs €68. There are also cards for 120 hours, but I don’t recall the price. »

« The first thing you need to do before heading to Denmark is to exchange your currency for Danish kroner. It's better to do this in your city. At the airport, we found a few exchange counters but ended up leaving with our own currency. Converting in your head is pretty straightforward—just add a zero. 35 kroner = 5 dollars. »

« "Some people traditionally sail in little boats on vacation, some take photos in a bridge pose, and I take pictures of the guards)) As I leave Copenhagen, let's summarize what this city is all about - take Oslo as a base, add an unbelievable number of cyclists from Amsterdam, a love for modern sculptures from Helsinki, street mess from Sarajevo, skinny residents from Paris, perpetual construction from Tartu, and prices from Stockholm.. And there you have Copenhagen)) It's all so simple in Europe, 'I've seen all of this somewhere before' ))" »

« Not enough time to really explore, the Scandinavian weather with its rain and wind, prices on everything are exorbitant and unjustified. Overall, Copenhagen – the city of green roofs – didn’t impress me as much as Amsterdam once did. »

« Copenhagen - a city infused with the scent of mulled wine and universal bliss. A city where a one-way metro ticket will set you back about $5! A place where you’ll want to stroll for ages, soaking in the tranquility! It’s a beautiful and cozy city! However, after more than two days, there’s not much to do here! »

« In Denmark, I came across the best hostel of my life. I found out about it from a travel show. They offer free stuff like a hairdryer, hair straightener, and an iPad. Renting a bike costs 75 DKK for 12 hours (approximately $11), which is affordable and super convenient. There's a bar with budget drinks, and don’t forget to reserve your spot for the free dinner! 😊 »
@nevajah
« I don’t know much about French cuisine, but I can tell when the food is delicious and the service is top-notch. Both were at a high level here. I can't comment on the prices as we were invited today, but I assume they’re also impressive 🙈💸💰💳🙈 And regarding the second dessert, which was crème brûlée, it’s definitely not my favorite; please note this for the record 😜🍧😜 »
