« The Anafiotic district is located right under the Acropolis. And this is indeed the heart of Athens :) White buildings, blue doors, and a charming number of cats, not to mention the Stamboulian influence... If you happen to consider investing in real estate here, you should know the price. One million euros for a two-bedroom apartment :) »
« Acropolis - a monumental rock, towering majestically above Athens. Acropolis, with its ancient temples, is among the world's must-see landmarks and is worth making the trip here. Every first Sunday of the month, entry to the Acropolis and almost all the surrounding attractions is free. We checked it out ourselves and saved 60 euros for two on entrance fees. The entry to the Acropolis alone costs 12 euros per person. It's best to come early in the morning, as you probably know why 😉 Overall, the landscapes around are incredibly beautiful, it's even nice to just walk around here 😊 »
« In this place, it’s hard to ignore that it has been around for over 2000 years. More than two thousand! Can you believe it?!!! »
« We really enjoyed our time in Athens. In some places, the city feels similar to Israel, reminiscent of the Neve Tzedek area in Tel Aviv, while in other spots, you definitely feel like you're in a different country. Orthodox churches are everywhere, and they are so beautiful. The church bells did keep us up at night, but it was still great. I don’t think I’ll ever return here, but I’m so glad this dream came true! 😊 »
« So far, I like the distant view of Athens the most. »
« So, my impressions of Athens are quite unusual. There’s an overwhelming amount of graffiti here, even more than in any other city I’ve visited. I feel like if you stand still for a moment, you might find yourself covered in tags or artwork, if you’re lucky. The center is peculiar, similar to other southern European cities, while normal neighborhoods lie beyond it. Life never seems to teach us anything though, as we find ourselves in the center. The vibe there feels like a mix of Rome and Istanbul - bustling with commerce and ancient ruins. »
« I can’t believe how disappointing this city was!!! In my mind, I pictured beautiful Greek columns, classic Greek style, and just pure beauty, but what I got was a messy, graffiti-covered city... The streets were filled with so many homeless people, it was dusty and smelled terrible... Maybe we just didn't have enough time to see the beauty of Athens... It's hard to tell. »
« Athens may not be my number one dream destination, but this city is definitely worth a visit! »
