« Day 1. Budapest.

During times of routine and workdays when it seems that nothing can surprise you, it's essential to look at things from a different angle. It's a great way to get out and explore new places, stepping out of your comfort zone. You'll find that the world is incredibly fascinating and diverse!

What my day consisted of today was visiting the Hungarian Parliament Building in Budapest. This site is filled with historical architecture, and when you see the residence that is the largest palace in Europe, you begin to lose your words. The construction is simply breathtaking!

Imagine this creation in the mind of architect Imre Steindl when he conceived such a monumental project! How did he envision, plan, and execute this? Was he using GTD or Kanban? In terms of scale, it all comes together seamlessly, creating an integrated story with an impressive number of 691 rooms along with 29 staircases and 10 courtyards.

Such people inspire, and the work of this scale leaves us in awe. The world continues to amaze us, and sometimes we just need to change our perspective, step out of our comfort zones, recharge, and start creating our own projects! 😊 »

« Budapest is truly impressive. The architecture, the ambiance, the transport system, everything is just wonderful. It’s amazing that sometimes the most stunning places can be just around the corner, and the locals are not at all shy to share their pride. Yes, it’s worth visiting and experiencing it for yourself; it’s really that good! »

« We arrived in Budapest, looking to stroll around and check out the attractions. It was quite chilly outside, and there was some wet snow falling, so we couldn’t stay out long.

We popped into Starbucks, warmed ourselves up, and decided to find a unique dining experience. Instead, we ended up at Szimpla Kert. Walking inside was a bit shocking; I had never been in a place quite like it before. My initial impression was that we had stumbled into a unique setting. It’s a two-story, eclectic ruin bar, with rooms designed in various themes. Visitors sit on a mix of chairs, where we found couches alongside old television sets instead of tables. The walls are adorned with children's toys, retro machines, and so much more — it felt like all these "decor elements" were taken from rustic furniture shops.

In a word, it was affordable and laid-back, yet very atmospheric and distinctive. In Budapest, such places are called ruin bars, and they’ve become a unique feature of the city. We really enjoyed it and decided to stick around for another visit the next day. »

« The pride of Budapest residents - the thermal baths! 🧖‍♂️ The water for bathing is sourced from a depth of 1,246 meters, with a temperature reaching 76 degrees: just before they fill the basins, it even needs to be cooled down! 😎 »
@mykolaantonenko
« In some gatherings in Budapest, the charming rooftops and the atmosphere are delightful. Visiting the Fisherman's Bastion is not only enjoyable due to its beauty but also to soak in the stunning views that open up to the Parliament building and the Danube as a whole. »
@mykolaantonenko
« I truly understand the charm of the hunting lodge! The Buda Castle, the president's residence, and the museums located nearby left me with the most unforgettable impression in Budapest. The exterior of the residence is quite impressive, and honestly, it looks like something out of a fairy tale! 🤣 »

« Well, to avoid being too brief, let me dive into my experience in Budapest! 😊 This city might be a revelation for anyone planning their first trip here. There’s so much history, stunning architecture, and delicious food to enjoy.

The thermal baths are a must-visit, especially the Széchenyi Baths, where you can relax in the warm waters surrounded by beautiful neoclassical buildings. It’s a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring!

I also recommend taking a stroll along the Danube River, especially at sunset when the city lights reflect off the water. It's absolutely magical! Don't forget to try goulash and chimney cake while you're here; they are local specialties that you absolutely shouldn’t miss.

Budapest is a city that blends the traditional with the modern, and this mix adds to its charm. Overall, it’s an enchanting destination that has something for everyone! 🌍💖 »

« I am absolutely returning to this place, the one with the best atmosphere when the sun is shining. A wonderful gem that still holds many secrets. 🌞✨ »

« The latest batch of photos from the Decembrist cruise in Budapest.

And a few words about my first impressions of the city:
1. Europe at Peter’s prices.
2. Everyone speaks English and it’s easy to navigate.
3. Walking around, I always felt safe.
4. Barbershops at every corner, working late into the night.
5. In December, it gets light by 9 AM, and by 3 PM, it starts getting dark.
6. The currency is the Hungarian Forint, and the current rate is about 1 USD = 350 HUF.
7. The guys in Budapest tend to look more stylish than the girls.
8. It's perfectly safe to stroll the streets at night, with patrols regularly walking around.
9. From Budapest to Vienna is just a 2-hour train ride.
10. A lot of the Soviet-era architecture around Budapest gives a nostalgic vibe.

Overall, there’s so much off-the-beaten-path and unique places that really crowd the typical tourist spots. Up until now, I haven't managed to grasp the overall picture of this city; it seems you still need to go beyond to discover the new missing pieces of the puzzle. »

« My country and my home!) I bought a ticket to Budapest, and oh my, I loved everything! 😏 As I mentioned before - I'm back in Budapest! And I don't regret it one bit! It's clear that this place feels like my own! It's hard to explain.. But here, I can really be at ease, both in body and soul. I can’t wait to return again and again. I'm comfortable here, this place has a ton of significance! And yes, I’m truly enjoying myself.. Everything here just feels great! The atmosphere and the people - it's all me! I hope to settle down here. The only downside is the language, one of the most challenging.. But hey, I can't complain about anything here! 😉 »

« Budapest is often referred to as the Paris of Eastern Europe, but yesterday I felt much more like I was in Stambul or Prague - with trams, larger rivers, closed-off areas, palaces, and cathedrals reaching for the sky. We enjoyed a delightful stroll along the Danube, and even on the banks there are many sleeping beanbags, although our impression wasn’t quite the same as that experience. »
@mentallychat_innusy
« Budapest is definitely worth a visit, even if just for one standout attraction - the Fisherman's Bastion 🏰. It's truly impressive, with its stunning architecture and fantastic views of the Danube and the Parliament building. You can get lost in its beauty for hours!

Somehow, I ended up with an unintentional fancy description, but trust me, it's a must-see 😊. The gorgeous views with the previous photos - that’s where they’re from! 😊 »
@camomile2206
« I, of course, won't say that this is now my favorite place; we still have so little time being acquainted, but it will always be in my heart! It’s incredible! I highly recommend visiting! In the photo is the most striking building in Hungary - the Parliament building. »
@korablusha
« This breed has become one of the most wonderful for me in Europe. However, I have only been to 4 countries (so many more to explore ahead!) What other breeds, in your opinion, are also worth visiting? »
@korablusha
« If you’re still unsure whether to travel to Budapest, let me tell you: it’s definitely worth it! 💖 »
@mykolaantonenko
« I don't really enjoy skating on skates. Perhaps, it's because I fall more often than I stand upright. But if you already have to, then it's definitely worth showing off in front of a gorgeous background! 🤩 This experience is just absolutely remarkable! »
@felice_mila
« Budapest is truly unique. It doesn’t resemble any other city. There’s an air of mystery about it. Some kind of hidden treasure that you just want to uncover. Of course, it's a place where you should linger and explore more than once. 🌍✨ »
@sigurn_
« In Budapest, there are traces of ancient Rome. If you wander a bit farther from the historical center, you might come across the Aquincum Museum. This was once a thriving area where about 30,000 to 40,000 people lived, complete with a theater, public baths, and homes with heating systems. Now, this place is just a shadow of its former glory, and while it doesn't strongly evoke the spirit of Rome, it’s still a nice spot to explore.

You can find many remnants of the past, like tiles with inscriptions and everyday objects. The area is well-preserved, surrounded by trees, and not swarming with tourists. It's perfect for those who want to step back in time without the crowds. Visit here if you want to avoid the usual tourist traps and enjoy a more authentic experience. 😊 »

« Fonari Budapest, December 2017

An unexpected discovery for me, an unexpected passion… In Budapest, I realized that I am not indifferent to street lamps. I even find myself collecting various "serendipitous" photos of them. There’s some kind of power in them; something magical, piercing through the veil of time; fragile yet alive; filling me with hope and allure. »
@jul_mishina
« Budapest. Every time I look at its photos, I’m amazed - why was I so sure that this city would make it to my "once in a lifetime" list?! It's stunning, a bright day there can be absolutely mesmerizing 🌟, and even when the darkness falls, it can still be enchanting (this doesn’t even cover the tourist hotspots 😉).

Overall (as for me), if you want to truly appreciate any city (whether it's a country, a village, or even a street), you absolutely must see it in all its seasons: in the snow, in the rain, and with the sun shining; every place has its charm ☀️. I’m already thinking about my next visit to Hungary, which will definitely be in the winter ❄️. »
@dirty_raccoon
« Winter sunshine and magical Budapest. We are in awe of our hometown. It's blissfully free, simple, and easy here. And warm! So, as they say, it has happened before: 🚆 a ride on the metro (especially the first "complete" metro in continental Europe, which opened its old line in 1896). The metro is quite charming to us - small platforms and tiny yellow carriages 🚍 a "stroll" through the historic parts of our city, especially along the banks of Danube 🏞️. We appreciated the walks twice - so delicious! 🍰 It's known that alcohol in Budapest is very budget-friendly, especially wine 🍷, absolute gem!

Misha's thrilled 🍻. Also, when you're accustomed to the local currency, the price variations in the time 🎭 it's perfect for food - the giants of street food 🌭 around Citadella with stunning views of Budapest from above… the panoramas are inspiring ❤️. And it's just the beginning 😍 so good that tomorrow I don't have to work 😌. »
@darettiva
« Experiencing the city and letting its urban vibe flow through your soul, igniting your passion — this can be fully embraced along the banks of Budapest. Though technically it’s not a waterfront, more of a tram street, this area envelops you in a unique charm. The vintage trams, the streets adorned with beautiful lanterns, all contribute to the incomparable essence of Budapest… »
@olga.zotova.29
« As we all know, all good things come to an end... and so my vacation is drawing to a close... a third of the journey is complete... Budapest is, as always, beautiful! It's impossible not to fall in love with this city! »
@_masik_masik
« I'm thrilled 😊 Just enjoying the city ☀️ The peaceful rhythm... wandering around, taking trams, buses, and trolleys 😀👌 and looking for the Shoes on the Danube 🌊 »
@oneirina
« I'm back home, but I still want to share my Budapest photos. In the old town, you can wander for ages through the charming cobblestone streets, peeking into courtyards through intricately forged fences, or turning into alleys as you pass under arches. There’s always something beautiful and unique waiting around the corner, whether it's a cozy little café, street musicians, or hidden gems that aren't found in any guidebook. 🚩 »
@screamdelica
« In Budapest, it's better to settle in Pest - that's where life thrives, with a huge number of bars and restaurants open until late, excellent transport connections, and simply put, it's just beautiful. Buda, on the other hand, suits those who prefer peace and quiet, a good sleep, and spending a couple of hours searching for a place to eat. In the evenings, there's really nothing to do there (and honestly, not much during the day either). »
@inmontenegro
« Budapest is wonderful. Such a beautiful, vibrant, lively city. Of course, you can't see it all on a quick visit. I wish I could stay here for a week! 😊 »
@screamdelica
« My favorite street in Budapest is Andrássy Avenue, which we walked along countless times (we even lived on one of the adjacent streets). In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful "grand" streets in Europe. »
@aleverika
« This city is beautiful... I'm all set.
P.S. This is the Parliament of Hungary. The second largest in Europe. »
@bybelkina
« On the opposite bank of the Danube lies a part of the city called Buda (so the photos I shared earlier were taken in Pest😛). Nestled in the hills, it's nothing like a mix of Prague and, according to some, Vilnius, rather resembling a classic European village. The quiet, beautiful doors, and the sound of a piano drifting through the windows immediately tells you a child is playing. I could stroll through such cozy and colorful places for hours, and I would never tire of it. I wish I had a notebook and pen with me, but there's just no room in my bag. It's hard to capture the details with a photograph that words can express. »
@ann_dyx
« I didn't think Budapest would impress me so much! »
@na.kosta
« The city is like a fairytale. With its romance, beauty, and a certain untidiness that doesn’t spoil the impression at all, but instead adds to its charm. »
@nemarina
« One of the most beautiful cities on earth! Long ago, I was in Budapest, and it's one of those places I'll definitely return to! »
@i_rissk_a
« I'm getting a weird vibe here. It feels like the fight against communism just wrapped up yesterday. They haven’t really tidied things up yet. I plan to stroll through the center tomorrow. Maybe it’ll be a bit livelier. »
@zaker88
« Budapest turned out to be very handsome. »
