« We arrived in Merida in the evening, the capital of the autonomous community of Extremadura. A place filled with rich history dating back to the 2nd century BC, during the reign of the Roman Emperor Augustus. By the 4th century, the city became a prominent hub, known as the "New Rome of Spain." The remnants of Roman architecture are splendidly preserved—many structures from that era still retain their original functions. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to visit the Roman theater or cross the Roman bridge... We only got to enjoy the well-preserved Temple of Diana, which you don't need to purchase tickets for—it’s located right in the city center. 🏛️😎🕌 »
