« I used to be a huge fan of Armenia and genuinely recommended it to everyone. The beauty here is stunning, with so many unique places to explore. But there are definitely some downsides.

When I traveled with a friend, the locals’ attitude was completely different. Now, traveling as a couple, it feels like everyone is trying to charge more. For instance, boiled eggs with bread for breakfast now cost around $6. On top of that, there are corrupt officers at every turn. Just today in Yerevan, we were overcharged 10,000 dram (about $20) for nothing, and we didn’t have time to bargain or argue (for Armenians, the typical bribe is 5,000 dram for any infraction). »

« Parking in the city center is paid, but not everywhere. It costs around $20 a year, and that’s not a mistake or a joke... »
@medushev
« Paid parking in the center of Yerevan: $1.70 - week, $3.40 - month. »

« Yerevan is a splendid city! I can confidently say that the people here are wonderful, the food is delicious, the prices are pleasant, and the architecture is sometimes astonishing. 😊 »

« Khor Virap Monastery against the backdrop of the legendary biblical Mount Ararat!
Distance from Yerevan - 30 km
Travel time - about 40 minutes
How to get there: Taxi from Yerevan - about 8,000 dram (around $21) round trip
Public transport: Take minibus 469 from the train station to the turnoff for Khor Virap. The minibus stops about 4 km from the monastery - from there, continue on foot or take a cheap taxi (500 dram = about $1.30)
Hitchhiking: Armenia is among the best countries in the world for this kind of travel. Most drivers are happy to give you a ride, sharing interesting stories about the area or the people.
Best time to visit: late spring and summer - early in the morning, before noon, or any other time you prefer. It's best on clear days to fully appreciate Ararat.
Our advice: If there are three or more of you, it makes sense to use a taxi. It can get very hot there in the afternoons during summer, so use umbrellas, caps, and bring plenty of water with you. »

« We landed in Armenia. The airport in Yerevan is really impressive, but the taxi drivers can be a hassle. We agreed on a fare of $4, and at the end of the ride, there was this unfortunate attempt to charge $8 instead, saying it was $4 per person. I never imagined I'd encounter such a situation. We explained to the driver that there’s no need to deceive foreigners like that. He tried to play on the fact that we were all compatriots, but with such behavior, we firmly rejected that notion. »

« About Armenia. It’s pretty hot there now; the best time to visit is May, June, and until mid-July. The country enjoys around 300 sunny days a year! It’s a small country, and ten days is quite enough for a relaxed trip. What to see: ancient monasteries, churches, petroglyphs, and fortresses; nature, mountains, and mineral waters. The food is delicious and budget-friendly!!! For transportation, you can use a rented car or a taxi with a driver. We traveled 1,200 km, which cost us about $150. Overall, prices are very reasonable; a meal for two at a restaurant starts from $9. If we had booked excursions through an agency, our route would have cost not $150, but around $500... Quite a difference. Any taxi driver knows their country well. For accommodation, we booked everything through Booking.com. For $40 for two, you can find a clean and decent place with breakfast. Must-see spots include Tatev, Khndzoresk, Karahunj, Noravank, Khor Virap, Garni, Geghard, Sanahin, Akhtala, Dilijan’s Agartsin, and it’s pointless to spend time at Parz Lich. In Jermuk, enjoy the mineral waters, stroll around, and relax))) and definitely hike to Lake Kari, the highest point in Armenia, where there are trails in the mountains starting from 5 AM, and they cook khash year-round. Lake Sevan is a bit further from the tourist center. And of course, Yerevan. A friend of mine created a one-page website about Armenia; once it’s up and running, I’ll share the link. »

« They’re talking about paid parking again, and I remembered how it's set up in Yerevan. They have subscriptions too. But the price... Check this out: you can take the Armenian dram and drop one zero to get an approximate price in dollars. It's about $12 for a yearly subscription, super good! »

« Yerevan is amazing! The climate is fantastic, the friendliest people in the world, beautiful women, relatively affordable prices on everything, and the food is incredibly delicious! I really love it here. It's our second day exploring the city, and we just climbed to one of the highest points in the city, where the view is breathtaking. Tomorrow we're heading to Sevan =) Wishing everyone peace and love! »

« A month of paid parking in the center of Yerevan costs $2 (1 hour of parking is $0.10). With prices like that, it's SO tempting to park! ;) »

« Nighttime Yerevan

The city is bustling with interesting cafes, restaurants, and spots to relax. These establishments usually thrive for a brief period while they are trendy and haven't yet lost their appeal. Then, a new venue opens, and suddenly everyone shifts their focus, leaving the old place to reduce its prices and quality. The fashionable spots attract the same affluent locals and foreign visitors to the capital. »

« Good morning! Here's a bit about the modernization of the 81-717 in Yerevan, which started in 2011. A few facts: Yerevan operates 2 head cars (although it's stated that there should be at least 3 cars: head-intermediate-head), the 81-714 intermediate cars are currently out of service, the metro has 11 stations, and the fare is $0.26. 🚇 »
@e_strannik
« Yerevan Metro. 11 stations, trains with two cars, 40,000 passengers per day, ticket price $0.30. »
@lu_bushkina
« Vera enjoyed the rides. A single ride costs us less than $0.25. »
@tranna35
« Yerevan: from the room on the 8th floor, there's a wonderful view of the city. Right next to the hotel is the presidential residence. It’s just a 10-minute taxi ride to the center for about $1.50, or a 20-minute walk. 😊 »
@storekeepertim
« We paid for the hotel with a single bill. We're sheikhs.
The exchange rate is around 0.027 USD for 1 dram. »
@monstrikirka
« Morning in the village! Today we gathered some greens for sale. Here's the bunch: basil, cilantro, parsley, dill, and savory - it costs about $0.06, but in Yerevan, this bouquet will be around $0.18. »
@javadyan_sofya
« In Armenia, people were in uproar due to a 50% increase in transportation prices!!! But then, the people, mostly students, rallied together and achieved their goal. The law wasn't passed, and the fare is back to 100 dram! You wouldn't believe WHAT happened here!!! »
