« So, Batumi. A relatively "recent" tourist city on the Black Sea coast. The main attractions of the city (new buildings, parks, and exhibitions) are concentrated along the waterfront. The main street is Rustaveli. It's beautiful, delicious, filling, and not expensive. As I found out, tourists mainly rent apartments here (around $600-$800 per month). The closer to the season, the more expensive it gets. Here's what to see and where to go:

1. The promenade, this is the essence of the city, make sure your phone is charged and you have spare memory cards, they'll be super useful😉
2. The funicular - go up hungry and a bit closer to the evening because there's a beautiful sunset, an affordable restaurant, and pleasant music. The ride costs 5 lari per person.
3. The botanical garden, Tamara's bridge - I read about them, but I confess, I didn't make it there.
4. Dolphinarium - from 5 PM, entry is 15 lari, swimming with a dolphin costs 150 lari... »

« That same Turkish coffee for 50 tetri (approximately $0.18) in the port. We talked about it for two years! 😊 »

« The Hilton Hotel in Batumi Rooms start from $150 per night. »

« Being in Batumi and not visiting the Batumi Botanical Garden is a crime against nature. Inside, it’s incredibly fascinating! You can get there by car, of course, but we decided to take a marshrutka (route number 31). Once you arrive, you can either walk or rent an electric car for four people for 40 lari ($17) per hour. But seriously, walking is the way to go – it's awesome! Sure, my legs were a bit sore, but the views are simply breathtaking. I’ll definitely post a couple of pictures, but they look better on camera... I’ll share them later! The entrance fee is 8 lari ($3.50). »

« In the Batumi dolphinarium, the dolphins perform around 30 different acts: dances, games with balls and rings, tail balancing, and incredible synchronized swimming. Audiences will find it fun to participate in interactive segments, where the most enthusiastic can try their hand at being a dolphin trainer. During the summer, there are 3 shows a day: at 2:00 PM, 5:00 PM, and 9:00 PM, every day except Monday.

Ticket prices are 5.50 USD for daytime shows and 7.25 USD for the 9 PM show. Tickets are available at the dolphinarium's box office. »

« Sunset in Batumi. The promenade stretches 7 kilometers long. In the city center and along the promenade, there are bike paths. You can rent a bike for just 2 Georgian Lari per hour, which is slightly less than 1 dollar. »

« Georgian National Ballet "Sukhishvili" in Batumi!
Ticket prices are $7-10. »

« We're in Batumi. What an amazing resort city! Of course, we've had a bit of bad luck with the weather, the sun shone for half a day, and now the sky is covered with clouds. Everything is different here compared to Tbilisi. Endless public beaches, completely empty! A sunbed costs 1 lari, which is about $0.37. The sea is clean and even warm today. A little bit about the locals: Georgians are very religious. When you ride in a minibus past a church — and there are plenty here — people cross themselves, men, women, and even children sometimes. We don't see that as much anymore. »
@biskinta
« Last photo with dolphins. Highly recommend! And the ticket price is only 7 dollars (15 lari). »

« This landscape reminds me of the logo from a creepy game)))) But overall, my first impressions of Batumi are beauty and relaxation. I'm really enjoying it here! It's such an interesting and peaceful place! I highly recommend visiting! Plus, it's super easy to find affordable accommodations. I'm renting a room with a separate entrance for $8 a day, just 5 minutes from the sea))) »

« Street food as such doesn't really exist in Georgia. The closest equivalents might be fresh khachapuri or lobiani, which you can find on every corner for about $1.5. A lunch in a café will set you back around $5-6. A middle ground option would be khinkali, priced at about $0.25 each; they’re available practically everywhere, and ten will fill you up for the whole day. A simple double room in Tbilisi and Batumi costs at least $40 per night (alternatives include couch surfing or renting an apartment for about $30 per night). In other areas, you can find rooms in budget guesthouses for $15-30. »

« Well, we made our mark in the Georgian Las Vegas)) The casino at the Sheraton hotel welcomed us with moderate hospitality: we only lost 13 dollars! )) Inside, photography is prohibited, so here's an outside shot ✌ »

« Scream like Kournikova! My first time wasn't as bad as I expected :). $5 an hour for a court with rackets in Batumi. »

« I read in travel guides that in Georgia, kissing in public places is not allowed and if caught, it can result in a fine of 50 lari (around $18). Well, I don't really know about that... 💏 Kissing might be off-limits, but you can smoke practically everywhere, and cigarettes are sold on every corner. Even the elderly ladies sit around selling cigarettes, nuts, and other things, just like how it used to be with seeds! 😂 »

« Regarding accommodation and prices. As I mentioned, one of the main goals of the trip was to get to know the people of Georgia, their mentality, traditions, and daily life, to truly experience Georgian hospitality. So it was decided to stay in guest houses with the best reviews. In Georgia, almost every city has hotels, from budget to luxury, and booking.com is quite helpful here. There are also apartments available on Airbnb. We searched for guesthouses on local forums.

So:
1⃣ Tbilisi. Guesthouse Dari. $25 per person per night, including breakfast and dinner. Dari's house is located at 8a Saint Petersburg Street. It's like an oasis among apartment buildings in the city center. An old Armenian house from the 18th century, it feels like we are visiting someone at their summer house. The bathroom and shower are on the same floor, which we shared with other guests. Only 3 rooms are rented out on the second floor. The metro is a 5-minute walk away, with one trip costing 50 tetri. We took taxis for $1-2, and you’re right where you need to be: at the sulfur baths or in Europe Square to take a ride on the funicular.

I got sidetracked. To sum it up, the location is fantastic. The food that Dari prepared was utterly delightful. The best lobio we've ever had! »

« I love these things.. The ticket costs 3 Lari (about $1.10). »

« Minibus in Batumi. The price for all routes is about $0.30. »

« For just 2 lari (about $1), this lovely train will take me from Kutaisi to Batumi. »

« Today, I experienced a whirlwind of incredible emotions while enjoying the breathtaking view from the Batumi cable car (which is built using cutting-edge technology, and the cabins resemble UFOs, costing just 3 lari = 1.12$): the mountains, the air, the scenery; and considering that I've just started to realize my fear of heights - it was nothing short of amazing! »
