« Taxis in the UAE 🇦🇪 🚖
Taxis are cruising along the busy streets every 3 seconds. You simply raise your hand, and one pulls over right to you! 🚖
It's easy to recognize them by their distinctive colors: red and green stripes or black roofs. These are the white taxis of Dubai. 🚖
If you're in a hurry, you can hop in without any issue.
The fare starts at about $3.25 for the first kilometer, with an additional $1.50 for each subsequent kilometer. 🚖
The minimum fare is around $3.25. 🚖
If you need to cross borders, there’s an extra charge of $5.50. 🚖
It's a good idea to get an estimated price for your ride beforehand. 🚖
And don’t forget to check for a receipt afterward in case you accidentally leave something behind in the taxi! »

« Currency 💵 Dirham. When we arrived, we exchanged dollars for dirhams 🤑 1 dirham = 0.27 dollars. Now let's talk about prices in stores and cafes. In Sharjah, the prices in grocery stores are slightly higher. For example, a 0.5L bottle of water costs around $0.45-$0.55, while a liter of juice is about $1.35. Clothes are also not particularly cheap. A simple t-shirt costs around $5. A dress 👗 can be purchased starting from $13. In restaurants 🍽️, the price for one person starts from $13. In cafes ☕, it can be a bit cheaper, starting from $7 per person. Tea ☕ and coffee can be found from $2. Prices for excursions 🏞️ in Dubai range from $8 to $54 per person (depending on the program). We took an average program for $20 per person. In Abu Dhabi, it's $15 per person. You can find safari trips in the desert starting from $14 per person. And about transportation 🚗🚌🚋, in Sharjah, there's almost no public transport 👎. However, in any location, you can catch a taxi 🚖. Taxi prices in Sharjah start from 3 dirhams (about $0.80). If you're taking a taxi from one emirate to another, the prices will be significantly higher 😬 due to border crossing fees. In Dubai, however, there’s more convenience with transportation, as there’s a metro 🚆 that’s efficient and comfortable 😎. Just yesterday, we were in Dubai. Prices for EVERYTHING are generally higher. In Dubai Mall (the largest mall in the world), there are over 550 stores and 35 restaurants, where everything is quite pricey 🤩. Dresses 👗 start from about $135. Overall, we live in Sharjah, even though it’s not the largest city in the UAE 🇦🇪. If you have questions, feel free to ask! 😘 »

« "Turned out to be a real revelation for me! It's been a while since I visited such museums, where literally the whole history of art is presented from Ancient Egypt to Ai Weiwei! So, if you're planning to go to Abu Dhabi, definitely allocate at least two hours to this museum. It opens at 10 in the morning, and the entrance costs $17, which surprisingly affordable." »

« I am so thrilled that we got to explore Dubai and a bit of Abu Dhabi!!! It's an incredible place! Skyscrapers seem to rise from the sand right before your eyes! Projects like "The World" and "Palma" are simply mind-blowing!!! Recently, a fully automated metro system was opened (no driver). Huge malls where I would definitely get lost, and one even has a ski slope!)) You can't even start to talk about the hotels… Burj Al Arab, Wave, and Atlantis!!!! The sea, the beach, the weather – it's all fantastic! Prices can be a bit steep, but that's just inflation at work 💵😁! And the people! They are so friendly! »

« Updates in the document legalization procedure for the UAE: 1) instead of stamps, they now use a sticker (very similar to the UAE Ministry's sticker) 2) the fee amount is indicated on the sticker 3) the current fee is $45. »

« Sheikh Zayed Mosque. Feel like a Muslim woman! 😊 The dress code for entering the mosque is quite strict. If the security at the entrance finds your outfit inappropriate, you can purchase an abaya for $3. »

« The Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Grand Mosque (also known as the White Mosque) is a true marvel and one of the most stunning structures in the UAE. The mosque boasts the largest carpet in the world, measuring 60,570 square feet and weighing 104 tons, the biggest chandelier ever installed in a mosque adorned with gold leaf and Swarovski crystals, and the largest dome weighing 1,000 tons. Those lucky enough to see such beauty every day are truly fortunate!!! I visited this place just once, but I will never forget this magnificence!!! It's extraordinarily beautiful and majestically serene. I wore an abaya and a scarf. The abaya is traditionally worn with a scarf, meaning it functions as a hijab. It’s a long, traditional Arab women's dress with sleeves, meant for public wear. Typically black, but colorful versions exist as well. Often, abayas are richly decorated with embroidery, beads, and rhinestones. The choice of where women prefer to buy an abaya depends on their fashion taste and financial means: the wealthiest opt for bespoke designer abayas. Prices for such dresses can reach up to $15,000. »
