« So, what can you see in San Francisco in two days? First and foremost, there's the iconic Golden Gate Bridge – the city's landmark. You can take a stroll through the park of the same name, which is so vast that it has its own shuttle service, as well as a variety of themed gardens, like the tea garden and the Shakespeare garden, not to mention its own waterfall. While you're at it, leave your car at one of the many commercial parking lots for an average of $30/night and give your legs a workout by exploring on foot, because the slopes of this city are impressive. It really feels like if you push the first car parked at a 90-degree angle, all of them would tumble down like dominoes.

When you make your way up the central streets, don't miss the famous winding Lombard Street, which is also drivable, attracting many eager drivers. To descend, you can ride one of the vintage cable cars that will take you to the city's waterfront, where you can meet the Pacific Ocean and the wild sea lions that have made Pier 39 their home, along with the famous Alcatraz Island – the prison we never got to visit, to be honest. Those in the know recommend booking a tour there a few weeks in advance, but at Fisherman’s Wharf, there are plenty of places to buy tickets. You could also rent a bike to reach the Golden Gate on one of the routes.

The SF Zoo isn’t particularly exciting, unless, like me, you’re not yet familiar with koalas. San Francisco at night is quite calm on weekdays, mainly populated by homeless people, of which there are many on the streets, but on weekends, they're accompanied by countless youths and hipsters hopping from one bar to another. »

« The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. It got its name because gold miners used to sail into the city through the strait that the bridge spans. To keep the bridge in pristine condition, there's a dedicated team of people who are constantly painting it. There's a toll to cross the bridge ($6 per vehicle). The nearest detour is about 31 miles away. »

« San Francisco Zoo is a great spot for family relaxation. The variety of animals is impressive. I was amazed to see five giraffes, a couple of zebras, pelicans, four ostriches, and another type of bird all living together in the same area. The animals are well-cared for and clean, with plenty of space for each creature. I can't help but recall the sad memories of a certain zoo back home where a poor elephant was banging its head against the wall. Here, it was totally worth paying $29 for adult admission (which includes two hot chocolates), $12 for parking, and $6 for a train ride. Having a small child sometimes reconnects you with nature instead of confining you to strict schedules. 🦒🌿 »

« San Francisco was our second city in the U.S. We were surprised to find that it was considerably more expensive than New York. Everything that costs $2 in New York is $4 here. There’s hardly any police on the streets, the skyscrapers are a few dozen stories shorter, and the fog is thicker and denser. The city is filled with charming Victorian houses. And the weather here is peculiar. In San Francisco, you need to dress in layers, like a cabbage, so you can gradually take off clothes. It can suddenly get cold, and just as suddenly become hot. Plus, everything is either "downhill" or "uphill." There are no other places with this many steep inclines. »

« It's really warm here, around 73°F! We took a ride on the famous $6 one-way trip. I recommend getting the $26 three-day pass instead. We're staying right by the ocean! 🌊😄 »

« The only bridge I feel attached to. It takes at least half an hour to walk to the first high point. You can drive there for free, but coming back costs $5, just like any other bridge in SF. »
@marina_irl
« Riding this charming little tram costs $6, but what kind of tram is it really? It's more of a historic attraction with its own story! ;) »

« If you're in San Francisco, definitely check out the zoo! Entrance is only $17. 🐒🌟 »

« We rented a room for three people with two large beds for $66. The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast and a pool 😄. »
