« It turned out that the high price of our hotel was due to its proximity to all the city's attractions. We stayed right next to the old Medina, or as you might say, the market. This place was filled with Moroccans eager to sell their goods. Initially, we thought the Medina would be a hub for traditional products, but most vendors were actually peddling items from AliExpress. In some spots, the Eastern charm was palpable: leather goods, carpets, jewelry, hookahs, babouches, long robes, teapots, samovars, lanterns, and more. The sellers here are quite crafty; they start off by getting to know you, pretending to be genuinely interested, walking alongside you, casually sharing a bit about themselves, and then out of nowhere, they'll say something like, "By the way, I also sell jewelry over there, want to take a look?")))) Here, most cafes and stores don’t have signs; the names are either painted or written directly on the walls. »
