« 😢 They beat us up with prices!

They say that in Marrakech it’s better to take euros, 💵 but that’s not entirely true. The locals love to quote prices in euros, but you still have to pay in the local currency. So, we didn’t see any significant differences between euros and dollars. ❌ The main thing is not the currency!
They don’t convert into dirhams (the local currency) directly. Dollar/euro ➡️ dirham. So, with double conversion, you can lose a not-insignificant percentage of your funds.
💵 We got a dollar card. The commission for withdrawing cash was about 4%, and when paying with the card - around 3%.
If we had been withdrawing with a local currency card, the commission would have been between 7% and 13%. 😱
The difference is noticeable, isn’t it? »

« The market in Marrakech is a little bit of madness. You can get a smoothie there for about 35 euros, but you could also find one for just 10. Haggling is essential! It’s perfectly normal, and if you manage to negotiate well, it's a thrilling experience 😄 For shoppers, this market is simply a paradise. Stalls bursting with teapots, lamps, spices, shoes, and bags made of natural leather all presented in the unique Moroccan style. »

« In Marrakech, the souks are much more diverse, but the prices are about three times higher than in Fes. »

« Very colorful place, with hundreds of vendors beckoning you into their shops, and if you don't buy anything, they pretend to be offended))) This is where the full-length movie "Sex and the City" was filmed, in the scene where Carrie meets Aiden😋 And you can have a great shopping experience here if you know how to haggle!😉 »

« Moroccan slippers. Probably, many remember the scene from "Sex and the City 2," where Carrie was surprised by their low price. By the way, the film was actually shot in Morocco, not the Emirates :) And the market scenes too :) Maybe right around here, Aiden is buying rugs? »
