« I'm really glad that we visited the YUAAR and Zimbabwe – the contrast is incredibly bright.
My last two visits to Africa were nothing like what I imagined: dusty roads, people sitting far from the main streets, not a very affluent population, and poor service. The "shopping" experience for souvenirs was something. A particularly memorable moment was when we approached a local attraction (a 1500-year-old baobab), and local residents suddenly started showing up, selling their usual souvenirs while actively promoting them. When it comes to buying from them, it’s better to avoid it; as soon as you pull out your wallet, they might snatch it and escape back into the jungle (our guide warned us about this).
In YUAAR, I really enjoyed the unbelievable nature and beautiful wildlife. Almost everyone speaks English. The local cuisine is incredibly delicious (like seafood and meat), with a great variety of choices and really affordable wine. Overall, it feels a bit like Europe but with its own unique landscapes and zebras wandering around. In a word, YUAAR is ❤️. »

Surfboard and wetsuit rentals are much cheaper than in Portugal, for instance. Surf+gear for the entire day in my hometown costs just about $14. Surfboards alone are around $8-10, and the wetsuit is about $3. In Cape Town, for example, in Muizenberg, we paid $12 for two boards and two wetsuits for two hours, which is very affordable. »
