« We continue to share terraces from the park. It's all simple, yet very harmonious. Visiting public places on weekdays brings a sense of calm - there are hardly any Chinese visitors. Despite the relatively high ticket prices (around $8.50 for students and $14 for a general ticket), it’s likely to be crowded on weekends, just like in other public places. »

« Van Gogh in Guangzhou is a case of sheer carelessness. They charge 100 yuan for entry (approximately $14), and they made a mistake on the dates of the painter's life. You can clearly see that the year of birth is written as 19.., and the nine was awkwardly corrected to an eight with a black marker. It looks terrible. »

« People, what on earth is happening? We went to karaoke with a group, $9 per person for 7 hours. The buffet is included in the price, and they don't limit anything, can you believe it? Some people had to be rolled out like little balls! There was a chocolate fountain that our girls couldn't resist. They definitely didn’t skip the dessert table with pastries and fruits either. I had to go all in on the meat. I'm a bit shy about sharing my own photo ;) »

« The Chinese are on fire! I saw this at an exhibition and tried to find that shoe brand online but couldn't. The wholesale price is $7.50. »

« During my 21 days in China, I realized that all the information I had received about this country through stories, rumors, and gossip completely diverges from reality.

China is a modern country. The stereotype that everything here is cheap is completely shattered. I walked into stores with locals and ate at cafes with them. You can have a meal for about $2.50. Clothing prices are similar to those in major retail chains. Sure, you can find jeans for $8, but you'd have to order a batch of 1,000 pieces. Generally, retail prices are comparable. In fact, some prices are even higher than back home! »

« Last day of the exhibition, time to leave this city! :))) INSIGHT: the fair didn't impress me much, I didn't notice any remarkable innovations. There are a ton of electric scooters of different kinds, priced from $125. I think there will be a boom for these gadgets next summer. The weather is great, the metro is convenient, taxis are cheap, and there are a lot of Chinese people around. »

« Great copy of the G-Shock. All the hands work perfectly. However, the purchase price is $60. Selling through landing pages is not an option anymore. People have gotten used to expecting everything for free. Just because it's from China doesn’t mean it should be dirt cheap. In reality, the products are really good. But they also come with a price that reflects that. »

« Very good copy, as the Chinese said. I got one for myself. $23. »

« In the Celestial Kingdom, getting a foot massage is a must. It’s painful, ticklish, spectacular, and feels amazing! The balance between price and session duration is excellent. My legs are already missing it!  »

« Coffee on the train… It's not worse than coffee on a plane. I'm returning from Hong Kong to Guangzhou. The travel time is 2 hours on a comfortable train, costing 27 dollars. I have this terrible habit: when I'm tired, I pretend to be a foreigner who doesn't understand Chinese and English, hoping people will just leave me alone. Well, I tricked the conductor who asked me to stow my luggage... Oh dear, that's not good! 😭😭😭 »

« I stayed in a hostel for about $7 per night, and the view from the balcony was amazing! They say the sun peeks through in Guangzhou about five times a year, but there's a terrible smog hanging over the city. »

« I imagined myself in your shoes, and immediately, the question of finding an apartment came to mind. Living here for a while, foreigners know how tricky this can be. Finding a clean apartment in a good area for a reasonable price is no easy feat!

So, how to go about it? First off, real estate services are very well developed here. Most Chinese apartment owners, to avoid the hassle of finding tenants and dealing with contracts, prefer to go straight to a realtor. Of course, you can search yourself through websites, but here too, realtors play a crucial role since they post the listings! It’s nice that these listings are available 24/7, but once you sign another contract, realtors seem to vanish like magic! For their help, they charge quite a steep fee of 50% of the monthly rent. You can see what their business model relies on! By the way, the price per square meter on the outskirts of Guangzhou ranges from $1800. »

« When it comes to clothing in Guangzhou, the selection is vast, ranging from pieces for $1.50 to boutique items for $1,400. Personally, I prefer the middle ground, especially these lovely little shops with affordable yet interesting items 👗👘👓. There's a lot of clothing from Korea, and the prices are truly delightful! 😍❤️ »

« In Guangzhou, we discovered a wonderful pressed white tea at the tea market - not pu-erh, but simply Bai Mu Dan (White Peony). I absolutely love it and ended up buying two cakes, one for about $14 and the other for around $42. The more expensive one has a distinct flavor of acacia honey, and the leaves were harvested way back in 2000. 🍵✨ »
