Tian Tan Buddha
Tian Tan Buddha, also known as the Big Buddha, rises majestically at Ngong Ping on Lantau Island in Hong Kong. Completed in 1993, this bronze statue stands 34 meters tall and symbolizes the harmonious relationship between man and nature, and faith. Visitors can climb the 268 steps to get closer to the statue and admire the panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, which includes lush hills and the Lantau Island coastline. The site is vibrant year-round but offers a unique atmosphere during the Buddha's birthday celebrations in April. While you’re there, take a moment to explore the nearby Po Lin Monastery, which adds cultural depth to this remarkable site.
