Hawa Mahal
Hawa Mahal, also known as the "Palace of Winds," stands at 12, K. K. S. J. Street in the heart of Jaipur, Rajasthan. Built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, this five-story structure features 953 small windows, or jharokhas, crafted to allow royal women to observe the street while remaining unseen. Originally designed as an extension of the City Palace, its unique honeycomb-like façade is not only striking but served as a way to keep the palace cool during the hot months of April to June. Visitors can explore the intricate latticework and enjoy panoramic views of Jaipur from the upper floors, making it an engaging stop for both history enthusiasts and casual tourists alike.
