National Museum of Royal Barges

  National Museum of Royal Barges sits along the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River, near the picturesque Wat Arun. Established to showcase the ceremonial royal barges used in important Thai festivals, the museum houses a collection of 8 elaborately decorated vessels, the longest being the Suphannahong, measuring 46 meters. Visitors can explore the museum year-round, but December is particularly special due to the annual royal barge regatta. Inside, you’ll find informative displays about the history and craftsmanship behind these magnificent boats, along with the intricate details of their construction. The museum offers a fascinating glimpse into Thailand's rich maritime heritage and royal traditions.
