Buak Haad Public Park
Buak Haad Public Park sits at the southern end of the Old City in Chiang Mai, nestled next to the historic Chiang Mai Gate. Established during the reign of King Kawila in the late 18th century, this park originally served as a royal garden. Today, it serves as a vibrant green space for locals and visitors, featuring a tranquil lake, walking paths, and numerous shady trees, making it an ideal spot for picnics or leisurely strolls. In February, the park comes alive with blooming flowers during the annual Chiang Mai Flower Festival, attracting both tourists and residents alike. Visitors can enjoy the sight of various bird species and participate in tai chi sessions early in the morning, immersing themselves in the local culture.
