Monkey Hill
Monkey Hill rises majestically in Phuket Town, overlooking the vibrant city below. Dating back to the early 20th century, it was originally the site of a military outpost, and today, it serves as a popular lookout point. Visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Phuket, the coastline, and the surrounding islands from its peak, which is accessible via a winding road or a steep staircase of approximately 500 meters. Intriguingly, at the summit, there is a large statue of a monkey—a nod to the hill’s namesake—as well as a temple where locals frequently gather. For those visiting in February, the annual Phuket Vegetarian Festival offers a unique glimpse into local culture, making it an exciting time to explore this historical site.
