Independence Palace
Independence Palace, also known as the Reunification Palace, sits at 106 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. This historical landmark was the site where the Vietnam War effectively came to an end in 1975 when tanks crashed through its gates, marking a pivotal moment in the country’s history. The palace was originally constructed in 1966 and now serves as a museum, showcasing the opulent rooms and war-themed exhibits that reflect Vietnam’s political past. Visitors can explore lush gardens and learn about the building's unique architecture, which combines modernist and traditional Vietnamese styles. Open year-round, the palace is especially busy in April, during the anniversary of the fall of Saigon.
