Siegessäule

  Siegessäule, or the Victory Column, stands proudly at the center of Berlin's Tiergarten park. Erected in 1873 to commemorate Prussia's victories in wars, this impressive monument towers at 67 meters, boasting a gold-plated statue of Victoria, the Roman goddess of victory, atop it. The structure, designed by architect Heinrich Strack, serves as a significant historical landmark and provides a panoramic view of the city from its viewing platform. In late spring, particularly in May, the surrounding gardens bloom with colorful flowers, making it a lovely backdrop for leisurely strolls. Visitors can climb the 285 steps to the top for a unique perspective of Berlin's skyline, making it a rewarding stop on your journey through the city’s history.
