Zoo Berlin
Zoo Berlin sits at Hardenbergplatz 8, near the iconic Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in the Charlottenburg district. Established in 1844, it is one of the oldest zoos in the world, home to more than 20,000 animals from approximately 1,500 species. A notable feature is the Elephant House, a striking structure that houses both Asian and African elephants, allowing visitors a close view of these gentle giants. The zoo is open year-round, with extended hours in the summer months, making it an attractive outdoor option even on warm days. In addition to observing diverse wildlife, visitors can participate in feeding sessions and explore specialized habitats designed to mimic animals' natural environments.
