Dresden Zoo
Dresden Zoo, nestled in the Großer Garten park, has a rich history dating back to 1861, making it one of the oldest zoos in Germany. Originally designed to showcase animal species from around the world, it now houses over 400 animals, including rare species such as the Siberian tiger and the red panda. This well-maintained zoo not only focuses on conservation but also provides educational experiences for visitors of all ages. In December, the zoo transforms into a winter wonderland, offering special events that attract both locals and tourists. While exploring the expansive grounds, guests can wander through diverse habitats, including the African Savannah section, where they might encounter giraffes and zebras up close.
