Heroes Square
Heroes Square, located at the end of Andrássy Avenue in Budapest’s City Park (Városliget), serves as a prominent national symbol. Dating back to 1896, it commemorates the 1000th anniversary of the Hungarian conquest and features the iconic Millennium Monument, which rises 36 meters high. A notable detail is the two colonnades that house statues of Hungary’s most important national leaders, adding depth to its historical significance. In June and July, the square comes alive with various cultural events, making it a vibrant hub for both locals and tourists. Visitors can explore the nearby Museum of Fine Arts or simply enjoy a leisurely stroll while soaking in the square's rich history.
