Fontana di Trevi
Built in 1762, Fontana di Trevi is one of Rome's iconic fountains, situated at the end of Via delle Muratte. This Baroque masterpiece, designed by Nicola Salvi, features a towering allegorical statue of Oceanus, who stands at almost 5.2 meters tall, surrounded by other mythical figures. The fountain serves as both a decorative element and a symbol of the city’s aqueducts, where visitors traditionally toss coins over their shoulders to ensure their return to Rome. During the month of August, you can enjoy the fountain illuminated at night, creating a captivating scene. While you're there, don't forget to take in the intricate carvings and the vibrant atmosphere filled with locals and tourists alike.
