We decided to rent a car. 🚗
According to preliminary calculations, it turned out to be roughly the same as the train (the train ticket was 14 euros one way), and it was quicker (1.5 hours by car vs. 2 hours by train). 👌 We didn't account for toll roads, which are 26 euros. 😩
We also forgot to refuel the car in time, which led to a 110 euro charge for fuel. 😤
🟡 The surroundings are beautiful, quite different from what you’d expect. It feels less crowded and even a bit warmer here.
P.S. I took way too many photos and enjoyed it thoroughly, plus in the last five days, I traveled around 50 miles. »

« The international wine festival in Verona is in full swing. In 2016, the festival celebrates its 50th anniversary. This time, some rules have been tightened, and the ticket price has increased to $85 per day. However, if you're a big wine enthusiast, it's definitely worth visiting Vinitaly. You can taste all kinds of Italian wines from various wineries. The pavilions are divided by regions of Italy. There’s so much to see that it’s easy to get lost, so it’s better to think in advance about what specifically interests you. 🍷✨ »

« Vinitaly Tasting 2023 has kicked off in Verona! It turns out that the wine exhibition also happens on the streets of the city: anyone can join the tastings by paying 15 euros for this pleasure. »

« If you find yourself in Milan for a few days and don’t have a spare couple of thousand dollars for a shopping spree (like we did), consider taking a train to Verona on the second day. Venice is another option, but it's best to visit when the weather is warm.

You can buy train tickets online, with the price for two people round trip being around $43. Trains run every half hour, so you can choose the most convenient time for you.

The journey from Milan to Verona takes just about an hour and a half. »

« Getting up to this balcony costs around 8 euros, just to step out and stand there for a minute. 8 euros for a couple of minutes - just business, nothing personal. »

« Juliet's Balcony, for 5 euros anyone can become Juliet and pose for a photo on it 😂😂😂, it's packed with people!!! ☺️ »

« Verona: a little town where every house feels like a set piece for a traveler. Around every corner, there's the delight of vibrant architecture. A collection of flower-filled balconies, rivaling the beauty of Juliet's balcony; bicycles everywhere, for sure more than in Amsterdam; prices for everything are reasonable even during tough times; people are chatty and friendly, and the atmosphere... »

« In Verona, you can rent city bikes for 2€ a day and ride around the most wonderful city in Italy. It's pure bliss! 🌟🚴‍♂️ »
@zh_sh
« Juliet's house is best visited in the morning, from 8:30 to 10:00. That's when you can explore everything at a leisurely pace without the crowds of tourists becoming a hassle. Entrance to the courtyard is free. However, to access Juliet's balcony and see other exhibits in the mini-museum, there's an admission fee of 7 dollars. »

« Today we had Verona. There's this Verona card that covers both transport and attractions for 15 euros for one day. We even managed to avoid the crowd; at first, we stood in a long line. I noticed some people had the Verona card in their hands, and I thought we were in the right place to visit the arena. After a minute, I decided to check and I’m really proud of myself - with the card, we scanned straight through without waiting! What a joy - we zipped right in! 😊 »

« Next to Verona. Somewhere around here, Romeo and Juliet cherished their love. Beach parties by the water. Beer for €4 and delicious wine for €1 per bottle. Italians are really similar to us, unlike the uptight Germans and Austrians. »
@vredina_now
« We arrived in Verona for the opera festival. Unfortunately, our dates only allowed us to catch Carmen, as we really wanted to see Aida too. Buying tickets on-site is almost $50 cheaper, but since we got to the city just a couple of hours before the performance, we were worried about missing out on tickets. So, ordering online was the way to go! 🎭😊 »
@knookno
« And the most interesting thing about Juliet's house is Juliet's computer!!! There's this tradition that if you're having trouble with love, you can write a letter to Juliet. Apparently, she’s in charge of matters of the heart in Verona. In the past, people would write all their letters and messages right on the walls of the courtyard. But I guess museum staff got tired of cleaning those huge areas covered in writing, so they banned it, set a fine of 500 euros, and installed these "prehistoric" computers right in the museum))) These smart machines understand Italian and English. By the way, entry to the museum is 6 euros :-) »

« A fairy tale town - a respectable area of Verona! Housing prices are like those in big cities! »
