Aquário Vasco da Gama
Aquário Vasco da Gama sits at the edge of the Tagus River in Lisbon's Parque das Nações, an area revitalized for the 1998 World Expo. Opened in that same year, this oceanarium has become a significant conservation center, showcasing a variety of marine ecosystems. The main tank, which holds 5,000 cubic meters of seawater, features impressive species like sharks, rays, and schools of colorful fish, allowing visitors to explore the depths of the ocean from a unique perspective. From June to September, the aquarium often hosts special exhibitions focused on marine education and conservation efforts. As you wander through its multiple ecosystems, you’ll encounter everything from playful sea otters to vibrant coral reefs, making for an engaging and educational experience.
