Oceanarium of Lisbon
Oceanarium of Lisbon stands at the scenic Parque das Nações, a waterfront district that beautifully showcases modern architecture. Opened in 1998 for the World Exposition, this large public aquarium was designed by Richard Rogers and houses around 15,000 sea creatures representing over 450 species. Its main feature is a vast central tank, measuring 1,000 meters cubed, which provides an immersive oceanic experience with species like sharks and rays. Visitors can explore the various themed habitats, including the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, and Antarctic ecosystems. The Oceanarium offers unique activities and educational programs, making it a great stop year-round, particularly in the bustling summer months.
