Capricho Park
Built in the late 18th century, Capricho Park sits in the Alameda de Osuna neighborhood of Madrid, providing a tranquil escape from the city's hustle. This fascinating garden is one of the few examples of Romantic landscape architecture in Spain and dates back to 1787 when it was commissioned by the Duchess of Osuna. Spanning 14 hectares, the park features a blend of manicured gardens, picturesque ponds, and intriguing structures like the elusive 'Labyrinth' and the whimsical 'Windmill.' From spring to autumn, visitors can stroll along its winding paths, admiring over 50 species of trees, including the striking black poplar and fragrant magnolia. As you wander, keep an eye out for local wildlife, such as turtles basking in the sunlight near the water features.
