Puerta del Sol
Puerta del Sol, located in the heart of Madrid, is one of the city's most iconic public squares. Dating back to the 15th century, it was originally a gate in the city's wall but has since evolved into a key meeting point. At its center stands the famous statue of El Oso y El Madroño, symbolizing Madrid. In December, the square comes alive with holiday festivities, including a large Christmas tree and lively markets. Visitors can experience the vibrant atmosphere, try local delicacies from nearby eateries, or simply join locals to celebrate New Year's Eve, where the countdown and traditional twelve grapes are part of the festivities.
