Museggmauer
Museggmauer, a historic fortification in Lucerne, dates back to the 14th century and was originally built to protect the city. The wall stretches approximately 870 meters and features nine watchtowers, some of which are still accessible to visitors. One interesting fact is that the musicians’ tower, the Zyt tower, houses a unique clock that chimes melodies every hour. Open year-round, the wall offers panoramic views of Lucerne and Lake Lucerne, making it a great spot for photography. Visitors can explore the well-preserved towers and trace the ancient stone pathways while enjoying insights into the city’s medieval history.
