Metekhi Bridge
Metekhi Bridge spans the Kura River in Tbilisi, connecting the historic Metekhi Church to the vibrant district of Avlabari. Dating back to the 12th century, this pedestrian bridge not only serves as a vital thoroughfare but also offers picturesque views of the city’s stunning architecture, including the Narikala Fortress nearby. The current bridge, rebuilt in 1950, features a striking design with a length of 180 meters. Visitors can stroll across, enjoy leisurely walks, and capture memorable photos of the river and surrounding hills. In May, the bridge often buzzes with life, as locals and tourists gather for events and festivals along the banks.
