Mother of Georgia
Rising above the picturesque city of Tbilisi, Mother of Georgia, or Kartlis Deda, is a striking 20-meter-tall aluminum statue that symbolizes the strength and resilience of the Georgian people. Commissioned in 1958, it serves as a welcoming figure for visitors arriving in Tbilisi, holding a bowl of wine in her right hand and a sword in her left. Nestled in the Sololaki District, you can find this landmark near the Tbilisi Funicular, which offers stunning views of the city. Early spring, particularly March, is an excellent time to visit, as the weather begins to warm up and you can enjoy the blooming flora around the area. At the site, visitors can explore the surrounding park and take in panoramic views, making for a memorable experience in Georgia's capital.
