Coit Tower
Coit Tower, a prominent San Francisco landmark, rises 210 feet atop Telegraph Hill, offering panoramic views of the city and bay. Built in 1933, this Art Deco structure was funded by a bequest from Lillie Hitchcock Coit, a socialite who sought to beautify the city. The main feature inside is a collection of 27 murals painted during the Works Progress Administration, showcasing California life in the 1930s. Throughout the spring and summer months, visitors can climb the tower's winding staircase for a glimpse of iconic sights like Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. The observation deck provides an excellent vantage point for photography and enjoying the vibrant urban landscape below.
